Ugh -- would it have killed them to had 3 rows of F for 9 F seats?

Question -- is 11-12 in what will be a "mini-cabin" behind F in the "A" zone, and then the rest of the rows behind doors 2R/L? That would actually mean that the wing wouldn't start until at least row 17 or 18.

I agree, it would have been nice to have 9 F seats instead of 6.

Thinking about the future of just the JFK-HKG-JFK route once CX has the 2 daily nonstops and 1 daily connection via YVR, then...

CX will have a total of 26 F seats assumming the following:
8 F on CX831/830 - A346
6 F on CX841/840 - 773-ER
12 F on CX889/888 - 744 Premium or Standard

or CX will have a total of 24 F seats assuming the following:
6 F on CX831/830 - 773-ER
6 F on CX841/840 - 773-ER
12 F on CX889/888 - 744 Premium or Standard

or CX will have a total of 23 F seats assuming the following:
8 F on CX831/830 - A346
6 F on CX841/840 - 773-ER
9 F on CX889/888 - 74A with New F

or CX will have a total of 21 F seats assuming the following:
6 F on CX831/830 - 773-ER
6 F on CX841/840 - 773-ER
9 F on CX889/888 - 74A with New F

This last scenario would be awful as far as F seat availability since the current double daily flights on the A346 and 744 Premium or Standard offer 20 total F seats.

It's my understanding that the wing starts behind row 12 and ends behind row 26. BTW, I don't think there is a seat at 15K.

Well you know Cathay Pacific, the upgradability is rather tight, since the airline is observing a growing demand.

Instead of 2D, they should have offered that solo seat 2G, a-la JAL New SkySleeper Solo.

For those who need accessibility, the accessible toilet is probably behind row 43HJK.

It will be going to this "awful" scenario. They already announced that both nonstops will be on the 77W, and so it'll just be a matter of time before they start using the 74A on the 1-stop. I anticipate flying this route 2-3x per year in paid J, though not always on CX, and would like the opportunity to try and use some AsiaMiles (by way of Starwood) to upgrade. This doesn't make it easy.

And here I thought they had a lot of paid F on this route...

I've read somewhere that CX's ultimate goal is to only fly 77W to N. America for passenger flights. So, 3 x 6 = 18 seats. :p

But hey, they may add more flights, so you never know...

I don't think that's possible, given the seat configuration originally posted. Here's a picture of a 777-300. The wing doesn't start until halfway through the "B" zone. I'm guessing there will be a few rows of J in the "A" zone, behind F, and then the rest of J will occupy most if not all of the B zone.
