Check in

Hello, i am check in on line.
Whats the minimum time to be on the airport for an intercontinental long haul flight, including for check in the baggage?

It depends on the airport. At Hong Kong, 40 minutes (at the desk - depending on whether you are flying in a premium class or have OW status then you should allow a few minutes for queuing).

The cut-off times are generally strictly enforced.

40 min. at the desk will be tight if the traveler is not a HK resident.

I agree that if everything goes against you (10 mins at immigration, 5 mins at security and gate 70) then you wouldn't have time for the lounge or shopping, but 40 minutes is CX's official cut-off time. On the other hand, if immigration and security have good days and your flights from gate 2 then you could have 20 minutes for shopping.

Not at all. It really takes no more than 10 minutes maximum to get through security and immigration. It generally takes me 2-3. Gates close ~10 mins prior. It does not take anybody anywhere close to 20 minutes to get to Gate 70 (or the end of any concourse, for that matter)
