NRT CX lounge

Being a SL member for less than a year, I've only been to CX lounges in HKG (both Pier and Wing) and LHR. And I'm gonna take CX505 NRT-HKG in mid-June. Can anyone tell me how it's like, and how's it comparing with that in LHR and HKG?

Many thx

The NRT lounge? Unless newly redone, don't get there early for it. Decent selection of food and drinks (a veritable feast compared to the AAdmirals Clubs in the US though), a few computers that may or may not be virii-infested at the time, quite a bit of seating, but otherwise it's a yawner.

No bathrooms, no showers. As a Ruby (SL means Silver, yes?), you won't have access to the Admiral's Club (I don't think). CX may have an arrangement with the AA club however.

There are bathrooms inside the lounge, but no showers. If you heading towards the computer area, the washrooms are on your right hand side. Just go over to the AA lounge and use the showers there.

Actually it is newly redone, as CX moved to T2 in Jan 2007, so the lounge is brand new construction. Not as nice as the AC built at the same time, and basically the same as the old CX lounge (just with new carpets, furniture, etc.). For whatever reason, CX did not want to have as nice a lounge at NRT as they do at TPE, for example (I suppose JL is not much competition for them at NRT).

Now that you mention it, I know exactly where the washrooms are. Not only that, but I've used them.. It's been a while.

Surprised they didn't put at least one shower in the new lounge.

Alright thanks for all your info. Although i'm holding SL, I'm gonna take F this time. So is there any F section in the lounge?

When I was there in early April, I didn't notice a separate first class section. Anyway, the lounge is not large and can get noisy very quickly. Even a separate F section is not going to make a lot of difference.

I've just thought of another question: Any chance to use other OW lounges in NRT? (with F tix?)

The general consensus is that the AA lounge has the best facilities among the OW lounges. There's a review somewhere in the AA forum.

I'm surprised that you didn't hear of the new lounge.
