CX Award/upgrade clasess booking code

Hi there:
Does anyone know which sub class is CX's award/upgarde classes, which include Business, eco and first class? I'm trying to use KVS Availability tool to check those availability but I don't know the code for subclass.

Thanks

Award availability is different from fare class availability. It is not available on KVS, or Expert Flyer or any booking tool. The only way is to call the airline. Booking codes on award should be irrelevant to you, but I believe First is U, don't know the rest.

Business is U, First is Z and awards/upgrades book into the same inventory.

I heard that upgrades are much easier to book than actual award seats. Is that true ? If so, given that awards and upgrades are booked into the same inventory class, wouldn't make sense though, no ?

Even though they clear into the same inventory class. You have the option of waitlisting for upgrade award at the airport (on CX flights), and if there is an empty seat up there, it's yours. But with free ticket redeemption, there is a certain cutoff period, and even if there are empty seats, you don't get it.
