When is High Season?

Hello everyone,

I will be trying to redeem miles (AA Miles) in a couple of months for a trip to SE Asia. I would like to fly LAX/SFO to HKG and then on to Thailand and/or Vietnam, possibly DEL. I'm trying to keep some destination flexibility.

Is March considered High season for any of these destinations? can anyone comment on the typical load factors in J or F? Would moving the trip to a different part of the help/hurt potential award availability

March is not high season for SE Asia. I assume you plan to redeem your AA miles on CX. There is a chart on the Asiamile web site that shows availability called: Redemption Seat Availability on Cathay Pacific
Right now it's showing green for all SE Asia routes in March.
Good luck!

Thanks, this would be for 2008, but that helps.

I believe that chart shows availability within SE Asia only. The problem with redemption usually is with transpacific flights. You should book in April/May for next March.
