Delay in new seating?

The Cathay website used to show starting January 2007 the new seats would be installed yet now the site simply says, during 2007. Does anyone know if there is a delay or are they still looking to start this month?

Thanks

I'm sure the web site was updated for a reason! Remembering the delays with the A340 F conversion, it will be quite nice if they manage to do the new F/J changes in 2007 (just getting all the certifications in place is quite a challenge). SQ seems to be doing a bit better, though.

Whole different story. SQ has not to date converted any aircraft, it is just that they happened to have some new a/c deliveries at a convienient time.

Last time I heard there were at least 2 a/c undergoing conversion at TAECO. I don't believe they've been completed yet.

I also noticed that on Boeing's website, they have noted that they delivered one 777 to CX during 2006. I can't remember if this was a delivery early in the year or whether it is the first of the 777-300ER with the new config? If it is the 777-300ER, I wonder where it is now?

It was the last of the 777-300s in regional configuration.

Any News of the First Plane with New F/J Seats?

Dear All,

I am wondering whether CX's first Boeing 747-400 with new First and Business Class seats are out from the hanger or not? Thanks!

Delay in new seating!!

I wrote an email to MPC for my flight to Melb in March and also asked them about the new seating. See below the answer:

Furthermore, we originally tried to introduce the new seat to our
aircraft starting from Jan 07. However, this plan has been slightly
delayed. We are planning to roll out our new seat during 2007.

We look forward to being of service to you again soon.

Kindest regards from The Marco Polo Club.

I suspect CX rushed to unveil the new seats because SQ introduced theirs in Dec 06. CX is not really ready to implement them. :(

Are they converting 744s or 74Js first (or neither)?

Soon, all 747s will be one configuration only. They are doing away with the 74J configuration..

Anyway, the first configured aircraft, B-HKT will be rolled out on 28Feb.

We'll just have to play 'musical chairs' just like the BA board is doing with the only 747 with the new Club World seats and see where this aircraft is heading or have flown !

Perhaps we can start a new thread for that!

Is there any chance that it will be doing LAX-HKG (the 11:55 one) or since that is listed as 74J, it will remain as the "subfleet" until all four are eliminated?

aa4ever,

Maybe you'll be able to find some answers at http://www.cathaytalk.com. ;)
