Help needed with an (irregular?) upgrade booking
Hello all,
Can someone please help me with this? I have a return ticket in WT+ on BA from BOM-JFK (via LHR). I managed to upgrade my LHR-JFK-LHR sectors to Club World, for which Cathay had issued the new booking and asked me to cancel my old booking on those sectors only. I've done the same thing earlier this year on the same route (except that I'd upgraded BOM-LHR-BOM instead of LHR-JFK-LHR). I received a phone call from the MPC today however, and the lady said that BA requires me to upgrade the entire ticket, and not just part of it (even though technically this is a return journey, keeping in line with the MPC rules that one-way upgrades are not allowed on other airlines). I find this really strange especially since I did it earlier this year as I mentioned. Also, I can't find any such rule that the entire trip needs to be upgraded, and not just part (I'm still adhering to the return rule remember). Now I've already cancelled my WT+ booking for the LHR-JFK-LHR sectors. I told the lady this and she said that she would call BA and get back to me. So I'm still waiting to hear but was wondering if anyone can back me up with what I should be telling her next? Thanks a lot... ps - strangely enough, my miles haven't been deducted yet, even though the booking was issued a couple of weeks ago for the upgrade (I logged in to BA's website with the PNR and MMB worked fine) |
