First Class Pyjamas

I love the Shanhai Tang PJs however after a wash there's always a significant amount of shrinkage. I know that they're free and one can't expect great quality but I certainly won't be buying anything from Shanghai Tang with this track record. Perhaps they're designed to shrink so they're not taken from the cabin and can be recycled. Are the PJs left in the cabin recycled?

Personally I have washed the ones I have many times and have not noticed any significant shrinkage. My guess is that you have washed them at too high a temperature (which will shrink many types of garment). Stick to 40 degrees and you should be fine.

tat's right, even an european label brand Cotton T will shrink if being washed under high temp.(maybe tat's why they always suggest Dry-clean!)

In HKG the used PJs in the cabin....they usually wash them and send to the charity. for out ports....suppose to be disposed....

Wash in cold, and hang to dry. Do not tumble dry or else it will shrink!

I have also found them to shrink slightly, but I don't think that this is representative of the quality of the clothes that Shanghai Tang sells in its shops.

Oh dear! You mean there are unwashed out there running around in CX First Jimjams? How uncouth!

;)

I found that all the black Qantas jamies shrunk so when I washed the CX ones I hung them up and didnt put them in the drier.
they seem to be ok but I dont have others (CX)to compare with. the only ones that havent shrunk are the BA ones.
I always get L and actually hoped the BA ones would shrink but they didnt :(

Pyjamas on HKG-SYD daylight flight?

Can I divert the topic slightly to ask if we'll get PJ's on the daylight flight to SYD? It may sound bizarre to some , but I would anyway change into sweats, so getting PJ's is less to put into my carry on.
