CX staff just told me to go to the Wing and rest, and I was able to catch up on my sleep (I was on my way back to MNL from FCO, so after a 14 hour flight and a day touring Hong Kong, I was definitely out of energy) Next thing I know, I queued at the back of the economy line, and when they got my boarding pass, it was rejected, and I apparently was upgraded to J. I checked my miles the next day, and nothing was deducted. I wasn't even full-fare Y. I have no idea why I got the upgrade, but I'm grateful to CX for it, as I really needed the recline so that I could start sleeping again. I have no idea how this happened, but I guess I looked pretty pitiful. While all the passengers around me were throwing hissy fits at the delay, I was throwing a pity-party. After all, I was a young college student who was extremely tired and feverish and weak. I guess I hit a soft spot. |
