Upgraded then bumped!
 

When checking in this morning in ICN for my B fare flight CX421 to TPE, connecting to HKG and MEL in I class, I was pleased to get upgraded! my first upgrade with CX since making AAPlat.

My fiancee, on the direct flight to HKG CX413, was also upgraded, though as she had ordered a fruit meal, she woul be getting they Y class meal she was informed. We had both checked in online 48 hours before, and hadn't expected an upgrade.

When I got to the gate, the gate manager saw my boarding pass, and asked me to step to the side, and said, the flight is heavily overbooked, in Y, and as I connecting on to HKg, and then MEL, would I mind waiting for the direct ICN-HKG flight an hour later, CX417. It gets into HKG 35 minutes earlier, so I was not too worried at taking it. So I get the direct flight in business class, instead of my upgraded sector, and then the business class sector that I paid for.

I'll be getting business class miles for the ICN-HKG sector, and not the Bfare ICN-TPE, and business class TPE-HKG, so I think that they mileage is a little worse for me 9 and the Q-points more so) :(

So, i was given the upgrade, but then missed it! not to worry though! Hopefully another comes through tonight, and I get upped to F :D (BTW I know that the chances of that happening are almost next to zero, or even a little leass than it!)
