What to do with approximatley 4 hours at HKG?
I will arrive in HKG at 05:40 AM from LAX. I then head to CTS at 09:45 AM for a back to back, arriving back in HKG the same day at 08:50 PM. I then head off again on QF to BNE at 11:15 PM.
When I arrive in HKG it will be on the back of a crazy LHR-WAW-LHR-ORD-ANC-ORD-SJU-MIA-LAX-HKG non-stop mileage run and will be in desparate need of a shower and change of clothes. On the CX website they talk about spas and Cabanas but I'm not quite sure what options are open to me. I'm travelling Biz and have a BA Silver card. I don't want to take my bags to CTS. I'm sure I have read here before that it is possible to leave luggage in The Wing or The Pier. can someone confirm this? Also, are their any recent experiences of HKG-CTS-HKG back to backs? Ideally I would like to get my return BP in HKG allowing me to bypass Immigration and head straight to the transit area (I'm assuming that one exists). |
I believe the Cabanas and Spa are in the first class lounge. But you can def take adv of the Wing/Pier Business Class lounge. Definitely worth a visit...

The Shower Rooms in the Biz side of the wing are just fine to get you back in shape. Surf the free wifi internet, stop by the noodle bar or enjoy a pork bao.
Enjoy! |
The noodle bar is probably not open in the early hours of morning (until around 11 a.m., I think) but I'm sure it is open when you are back from CTS.
If u have access to the F lounge, your luggage is safe, more or less. In the buz. section of the lounge, I would think you would have to just leave in a left-baggage section where no one is attending to. |
The noodle bar is generally open when the lounge opens, but they may need an extra few minutes to get the food ready. It serves breakfast food during that time.

With the nice lounges and shops, 4 hours transit time is too short for me. :D

looks like a nicer MR than the ones that i am used to :D

Thanks for the advice. It looks as though it will depend on what gate the CTS flight is leaving from that will determine whether it id The Pier or The Wing I will use.

sod the lounge, get the train into town and have a beer.

But I find only fares routing EH ! Or is this a RTW ? which would not be so cheap with around 5000 ++ Euro for a DONE4 |

Isn't there a massage place somewhere within the terminal? One can only spend so much time in the massage chairs at OSIM. ;)
