Safe connection time in HKG

Can anyone advise whether 60 minutes is possible (and reasonable) for a connection in HKG? Proposing arriving QF SYD-HKG at 22:00 and departing CX HKG-DEL at 23:00.

I guess it is possible and it is certainly reasonable. I had a connection time of 1:05 some month ago and there was no hassle at all, I even had a (quite short) shower in the Pier.

You just need to make sure that your baggage is checked to DEL in SYD. If you bought 2 seperate tickets for the QF and CX flights this is still possible if they can see your CX ticket in SYD (You probably know that - I am just mentioning this because I had a similar problem when I was flying into HKG on NH and out of HKG on CX: my CX ticket was an e-ticket, so the NH agent had to call the CX call center to confirm that I really had a ticket for the flight out of HKG before he could check my bags...)

But as QF and CX are both OW there should be no problem, you might even get your CX BP in SYD.

It possible to make the connection but your baggage more than likely will not make it if you are travelling in coach.

If you are a club member (even without status) on either airline... no problem. Otherwise your baggage may be left behind if not booked on the same ticket

Thanks for the feedback. We are both in J and QF WP status. So the bags shouldn't be too much of a problem and we'd be early off the plane. I do think, however we'd love to recover in the WING between flights so the 5 hour connection offered by the earlier flight ex SYD may be the go. I think it saves a little bit of stress both in HKG and in DEL - DEL, of course, being the place where stress is not needed before tackling the outside world..

According to my CX Oneworld timetable the MCT in HKG is 50 Minutes, so you should be fine.

Never fail to leave plenty of time for the Wing when connecting in HKG. @:-)
