CX business subclass

Hi CX gurus,

As far as I know, CX has 4 booking subclasses (C, D, I and J) for their business cabin. D is the discounted fare and J is the full fare. What about I and C? Among the four, which one is usually cheaper? Of course not J.. :p

I is cheapest
C is also discount business for corporate deals?
D is discount business but used mainly for RTW fares.
J is as you said full fare.

I'd like to fakecd's list...

That although "I" is the cheapest, it is not available everytime. Sometimes this fare is not even offered from where you'd be departing from. It is never a published but as a deeply discounted fare.

"C" was what CX once considered full fare economy class 'upgraded' to Business Class. This code is rarely used anymore when a revenue ticket is purchased.

"D" is used for discounted Business class. Much offered as a discounted published fare found on most CRS'.

"J" is full published fare.

OK, so what class is a CXLeverage biz ticket booked into? I have one now and there is no indication on my receipt or BP. All I know is I paid 25% off the J fare. Is it J or ??????

Last time I bought a CXLeverage business class ticket, it was booked in "JSMBIZ" and showed as "J" on the boarding passes. Even got an op-up to F on HKG-LAX.

CX boarding passes always show either F, J or Y no matter which subclass you are booked into. (eg. A, I, or M etc.) --So don't make the mistake of assuming that what you see on a CX boarding pass is what class you are booked into.

Was it an electronic ticket? E-ticket receipts are sometimes very bad (especially when it is not printed by a travel agent) when it comes to showing your booking class (most often it just shows the fare basis).

The booking class does not always correspond with the fare basis.

It could be possible the for the fare basis JSMBIZ, the fare could actually be booked in C, D, I etc.

For example, I have a ticket which shows "FR" as the fare basis, but it is actually booked in "A" class.
