Upgrade Validity

Continue from my original post.

Has anyone tried the method of booking an Upgrade award. (Book it on an available date first and then when you actually travel you use the issued voucher as an on-departure upgrade).

If there are seats actually available what are the chances of them giving it to you ( I know even if it is empty they can not give it you)

I am jsut wondering should I risk it by doing this on my next trip to LHR.
(as my company only allows me to travel on BA/QF in Clubworld normally, therefore if I couldn't use the HKG-LHR Z class upgrade voucher, I will have minimal chance of using it before it expires in 12 months time).

Also for the stopover rule, how strict does CX endorse it?

Dear newcx12345. We know that you're esctatic over Flyertalk's CX forum, but there are a few Terms of Agreements you must adhere to. But since you're new to this board, we thought we'd enlighten you.

Try not to start new posts when you still have one going especially its on the same subject - re: Upgrades. Repost it there and we will get round to it when we have a chance. But if you keep posting similar topics all over the forum, not only is this confusing to you.. but to other people trying to read it as well.

I therefore ask that you return to your original post and post your questions.

Thank you.

I am amazed at all the Questions you have about CX! My simply advise is to call their Asia Miles service centre and ask them all the questions you may have. After all, they are available 24/7 so if you happen to think of a question at 2am, you can still call them to ask! :D

Enjoy Cathay Pacific - the world's best airline!

If you read some of my other post, you will notice that I had some problems with the 24/7 MPO call centre.

Also sometimes there are things easier in writing than over the phone.

I mean my question on the thread, how do you think the MPO agent will answer? "No sir, you can't do that, etc...?" I find sometimes for these type of opinionated questions it is best to leave it for seasoned CX traveller such as yourself.

Yes, but we aren't PAID to help you with your questions. Sometimes I find your questions daunting.

Use the 'Edit' botton at the right bottom corner of your post.
This information is found in FAQ. I would suggest you go through it first. The FAQ link is in a box above this thread. Search functions also come in handy, too.

By the way, in case you didn't notice, the top page of this web site is www.flyertalk.com

If you mean you want to delete or move the entire thread, I think you need to ask the moderator. Page B Watson. I don't know if you can have it merged with another thread, though.

newcx12345, just leave the posts as they are. In future, I strongly recommend that you consolidate your questions into one post to avoid confusion and separate replies for each topic. Just a suggestion! ;)

Enjoy your flight with CX - the world's best airline! ^
