Help? Forgot to log miles, lost ticket.
Hi all, just wondering if I might have any recourse for action. I forgot to give the check in personnel my AM card when checking in a CDG last year on flight from Paris to HK. I've since misplaced (er... yeah, lost) the ticket, but I still have the boarding pass stub. Does anyone know of any other way I can claim the mileage? TIA!

If it was a ticket issued on Cathay stock (i.e. ticket number began 160) and there were any other CX flights on the same ticket that were recorded by AM then if you give AM a call they might be able to find the ticket number from that information. Generally speaking AM doesn't seem to need any physical evidence of miles missing from CX flights because they can confirm the information electronically.

I think I may be in the same dilemma. I took a flight on June 11th HKG-JNB but have since lost both my boarding pass and ticket. (I kept the wrong passenger coupon instead). The flight was a connection from NRT. Both boarding passes had my AA AAdvantage number. The funny thing is that the NRT-HKG flight has since been credited to AA, but the HKG-JNB sector still hasn't.
If the flight doesn't show up in another week, I think I should call MPC and ask them to track down the flight info and enquire why they haven't sent the miles to AAdvantage. |

another possibility
if you bought the ticket via credit card you may be able to pull the ticket number of the Credit card statement....or you may be able to request a copy via your credit card company.

You can submit your missing mileage request online through Marco Polo Club member's area on CX website.
The catch: the flight must be less than six months ago. So this may work for Guy Betsy, but not for roadsleeper. If the maximum time of six months is valid for all missing mileage requests (online or otherwise), then your mileage is probably lost. :( Ticket number is requested on the online form but not required. |

The solution to your problem
Last Year I had a similar problem, I misplaced my & my wifes BA boarding pass from Barbardos to London Gatwick in J class.
The process is simple to recover the miles, you need something called a 'Travel Certificate.' What this is, is that you have to enquire with the airline where to send this enquiry, and write them a letter asking for a travel certificate. Note to them the date, start and destination of the flight, flight number, and other details (such as what class you were in). They should write back to you with an official letter (this is the flight certificate), confirming your name, and details of your flight. Once you have this, pass this on to your milleage program, and they shouldn't have any problems crediting your miles. |

Well, if all fails, at least you know you can still retro-credit the flight to MPC/Asia Miles :D. Yes, sometimes printed FF number on the boarding pass doesn't mean a confirmation that it will be credited. I have had my UA boarding pass printed "UA 869*******" when it should have been "SQ 869*******". |
