Cabanas

Does only the Wing have cabanas or can they also be found in the Pier?

To the best of my memory, no. Though there are shower suites and 'Daybreak Rooms', more info here: https://www.cathaypacific.com/intl/a...,78809,00.html

Only in the Wing. The Pier has day rooms which some people prefer to the cabana (but they don't have flowing water). Otherwise the Pier is comparable or slightly better to the Wing.

Is the meal service in the Haven the same in both the Pier and Wing? Or does one of them offer a wider variety?

If it were to a OW F lounge, then my vote would go to The Wing (nearest the exit from immigration), however many of us who fly to the US, UK and Australasia tend to find The Wing more conveniently located for the departure gates.

If you have enough time, try both. The Wing for the cabanas, and the Pier for the dayroom. It's easy to get from one to the other. The train runs from the Wing area to gate 65, and I believe the Pier F entrance is around gate 63, or something close like that. If you are granted access to one, you will also be allowed in the other one.

In one word, Yes; just as there is a big difference between CX's actual First and Business Class product.

The Wing is consistently busier than the Pier, where I am at now. There's like maybe 3 people including myself at the F area of the Pier and it's a lot quieter than the Wing as far as I am concerned.

I'm now heading in for a little nap in the rooms. The Daybreak rooms have the AVOD like you see on the F/J cabins of the long haul aircrafts. Plus a "service" button for assistance. Though I must warn that the lounge chaise, though nice to look at and sit down for a while.. is quite difficult to really get cozy in. Maybe the floor might do better for me.
