Diamond drink
 

I have been DM for more than 10 years, but never being invited to any DM events after Covid? Anyone is the same?

maybe it's an oversight. the email invite for last night's says "Exclusive Invitation - The Diamond Drinks". it was pushed back from original date in november due to the fires.

i think i've only been getting "diamond drinks" invites post covid. (I still have yet to attend, regretfully.) i can't recall getting any invites for a few years during covid fwiw, maybe 2021 or 2022? a few years in there i don't think i got anything.

before covid, i distinctly remember them being more ad hoc "events", i remember a few wine and food pairing winners in hk, another thing out at CX city, way back at the day i remember one at crown wine cellars in shouson hill, things like that. (I'm sure I'm dating myself.)

If they had to invite all HKG based DMs to last night’s event, they would probably have to do it 50 (or closer to 100) times…

They should have called it the Top Tier Diamond, Diamond Plus or Diamond Exec Drinks then... or whatever benchmark they used internally to cut-off the invites. As someone who is a HKG based Diamond and never invited to these events, I wouldn't feel as bad if there's a clear threshold to be invited (presumably spend / SPs) rather than finding out about these "Diamond" events through social media.

Or they could just hold it at the Kai Tak stadium... :P
