PE seats on a non-PE flight
 

PE is not available/bookable for MNL-HKG flights. In the event of equipment swap to a plane with PE seats, will these seats become bookable at check in? Or can Cathay elites request to be seated in PE when booked in Y?

I asked because on my flight the other day, there were 5 pax seated in PE. I was wondering how they got to be seated there when I can't book PE for this flight.

How? We’re they offered to be seated in PE during check in? Boarding?

Or did the pax requested to be seated in PE?

My guess is they booked a long haul ticket in PE with a connecting flight from MNL. If the MNL-HKG gets PE seats then they would automatically be put in them.

As GO, I have no problem getting those PE sold as Y seats at the airport. Sometimes, they proactively move me. Ex-TPE, if I see the equipment change and they have not moved me yet, and I have already done OLCI, I call TPECX airport desk, and they are happy to do it for me and my companions.

Will try this on my next flight.
