Hi
Is there any way to ck in very early with bags at lax for cathay!?I want to go early to the Qantas lounge rather than sit about.or do I have to wait til ckin counter opens 3 hrs before the flight? thanks

Yes, I have done it back in March 2025. LAX now has a bag drop system in Aisle A, in which CX is a participant. There is even several staff (non-CX) helping people tag and drop off their bags. Very convenient.

Confirm I was able to as well a few months ago, Cathay was running a few flights on the evening and I managed to check my bag in with the 11pm flight only showing on the boards, though mine was the midnight flight, so four hours early at that point. Looking back I have no idea why I wanted to do this early, think we just arrived at the airport quicker than we expected. In my case, I used the manned check-in desks (First due to OWE) and they had no problem with it.

I saw in CX website, they opened 4 hours due to ongoing constructions at LAX https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_...l-airport.html

It also noted about the self-service option which I didn’t know about
