Cathay Extra Baggage Charge
Does anyone know if the extra baggage charge is per segment? Eg. Would a single TPE-HKG-BKK ticket trigger 2 x Zone1-to/from-HK charges or just a single Zone1-to-Zone1 charge?

check this page, from zone to zone, not by sector

Nothing there answers my question definitely, only that prices are calculated by zone.
scroll to the ‘Charges across zones per extra piece’ part. From/To Zone 1, then under ‘From/To Zone 1’. $120 |

the website does not render well on phones- try landscape view, or on a laptop/pc.
scroll to the ‘Charges across zones per extra piece’ part. From/To Zone 1, then under ‘From/To Zone 1’. $120 These tables and the entire page does nothing to tell you whether a single ticket across multiple flights are charged. Here's a better example: TPE-HKG-NRT could be charge the exact same as a TPE-NRT direct flight (aka a single zone 1 to zone 1), or it could be charged on a per segment basis (once for TPE-HKG, then once more for HKG-NRT). Nothing on the page tells you which scenario it is. If anything, the line "Take a look at the table below to work out which zones your flight covers." would imply it's charged on a per segment basis. |
2sector , pay 2X fees
|
If you are through checking through HKG then it is one zone 1 to zone 1 fee.
if you are stopping in HKG and picking up your bag then it will be 2 fees. |
