Purchasing Lounge Passes with Cathay Pacific
 

So I'm a Cathay Silver member flying with my partner from HK to Shanghai Pudong and back next month and was wondering if anyone had any experiencing purchasing a lounge pass for their travel companion in the Cathay Lounge in Shanghai. Apparently Cathay Silver members and above can purchase a lounge pass for their travel companions for USD 75/HKD 600 at select lounges (Shanghai, Vancouver, Hanedaor Manila) according to the cathay website (I can't link it but googling purchase cathay shanghai lounge pass should bring it up)
It just says it can be purchased by logging into manage my booking 90 days before my flight, but I don't see where I can purchase it under manage my booking. I think this booking should be eligible as I'm a Silver member, I bought the two tickets with Cathay on their website. I've tried contacting their help via whatsapp but they haven't been very useful.

If anyone has any experience/knows what to do TIA for any advice

Yes, PVG allows the purchase of lounge passes. You should also be able to spend AM on lounge access. I'm not 100% sure how it works on the app. Normally, you walk up to the lounge and pay with money or miles.

By the way, which day are you travelling to PVG in Dec? There's a lounge meet up thread

See if you can get a guest pass through the lounge meet up thread per above. Otherwise my personal view is that the lounge is not worth ~RMB550 entry fee. It is a decent lounge by CX standards, but nothing special. There is the noodle bar, very limited selection of hot food (scrambled eggs, porridge, fried noodles for breakfast and couple of dishes during the day) and standard drinks (juice/water/beers etc). You can buy better food/drinks at the restaurants for RMB500 IMO.
