I browsed the forum and used the search tool, but did not see any discussion on this topic (please let me know if I missed it).

Is there any way to set alerts for award availability (e.g. a site like seats.aero or ExpertFlyer)? Or does everyone just check the Cathay website multiple times a day? If so, are there any tips for this process?

I think there's seat spy and another free website. Since I don't redeem as much as many others here, I rarely encounter issues of finding the seats I want.

checking daily for the seat you want is definitely doable though

SeatSpy doesn't cover CX. There are a bunch of other newish award availabiity services (PointsYeah, etc.) which I think do return some results for award seats on Cathay--and in some cases may allow you to see up availability alerts. But I'm pretty sure these are only for the (much lower) Cathay award availability via other One World FF programmes. Not aware of any award availability service that will allow you to set alerts for the much greater award availability that is available via Cahtay's own programme?
