CX increasing cabin crew on selected flights
This is interesting, they've been short-staffed on their planes since Covid. Anyone know which "selected flights" they're talking about?

Really likely long routes that crew are often burnt out on. CX has been hiring so many crew, looks like it's finally paying off.

About time!
Recently I felt sorry for the crew on board a full flight between HKG and India, crew seemed very short-staffed, frantically scrambling about & were even requesting pax to complain about the shortage of cabin crew on board (facepalm) Edit: I was in PY; Y had four empty seats; PY & J were fully occupied. Apparently staff were also complaining that they had to do a consecutive HKG-IN-HKG round trip, with no layover at the outport. Given the shortage of cabin crew as an additional factor is no surprise some staff seem demoralized... |

She told me that a crew there could have up to 5 "newbies" when normally it would just be one. Also, on certain euro routes, they only have 1 night as a layover. |
Sam Chui mentioned only 13 crews working the 4-class 77W in his latest video, that seems like quite a stretch.

I certainly hope this is true for SYD-HKG (as indicated earlier in this thread), each time I fly that route the crew are quite harried, I usually like to chat to some of them in the galley when the chance arises and they've been telling me how hard things are lately with full cabins in J and Y+ but being short-handed compared to pre-Covid levels. Good to see more investment where it counts.

Early this year I was told by a senior purser that they had only 35 hours layover in New York after HKG-JFK

LHR and SYD are the two routes with increased manned power as of now.
