Flight delays and compensation
Hello! I was wondering if anyone would have a better grasp of this situation. I was notified at 6AM, that my flight that was scheduled for 15:35 is delayed by 2 hours due to engineering requirements. Now, I will not be able to catch my connection and I will be delayed into my final destination by almost 6 hours.
The information below a seems a little inconsistent - would anybody be able to shed some light? I was told they would rebook free of charge, which in my opinion is the basic… https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...3af45ff358.png |
Hard to tell your rights unless you mention the itinerary.
I assume that both segments are on the same ticket and also CX. Different countries have different rules. Looking at the screenshot you posted, as well as the departure time, you seem to originate from Canada. Then APPR rules apply: You can check how much compensation your are owed for an arrival delay at your final destination here: https://otc-cta.gc.ca/eng/publicatio...ations-a-guide It assumes that the delay is within the airline control.. If you are only ticketed to HKG, only the arrival time at HKG counts, if you are ticketed to a further final destination, then the arrival time at that destination counts. |

Indeed. Unless CX659 is one hour late (time when plane door opens).
Delay of CX825 is caused by late arrival of CX828 from HKG. The aircraft (B-LXJ0 was not delayed on a previous flight (from BOS). It was supposed to spend 6 jours on the ground in HKG before taking off for Toronto. But it spent almost 8h. Either a technical/staffing problem, or weather related.. I doubt that it was weather, so you should be entitled to 400 or more. |
