Status Point posting for CX x SCB Card
 

Hi All, just wondering if there is any idea when will the status points for "Earn 20 Status Points for every HKD100,000 you spend, up to 100 Status Points" this benefit will be posted? I just want 20SP my upgrade to DM, it has taken ages..... I spent it at the end of Apr, but it's MIA.

I actually looked into this as well. I was told by SC customer services that they will calculate the eligible spend at the end of 2023 then pass the information to Cathay who will credit the points before March 2024.

process sounds super manual and not exactly beneficial to the customer. I couldn’t tell you if the statement is accurate though.

Never trust SCB, they can easily screw you up as it is such a screw up bank. I had enough when I was applying the CX SCB credit card and its subsequent bonus miles accrual. It did end up in my account, but it took me quite some effort. The same would never happen at Citibank and AE back then, so I suspect SCB offered CX the best deal.

If I were you, I would just call CX to go through the situation. 20 status point is not much and they might just upgrade you to DM straight away. Success rate in this situation pre-Covid would be quite high, but with the new CS desk in place, I would say half-half. Hang up the phone if you are connected with CS speaking Cantonese with accent, would be a complete waste of time

Has anyone got their bonus status points from SCB credit card earnings credited already?

Not yet, but the T&Cs indicate this shall come by March 2024, so one can only hope it gets credited before March 31st 2024 (this is when my Gold membership expires and these 20 status points are what will help me exceed 600 points, to get the extra 200 bonus points for the next membership year).

As a follow up, I have got my SCB bonus Status Point credited to my account on Feb 27.
