How long for status points to credit?

Apologies if this has been asked before (and I am sure it has). I did search but couldn't find the answer.

How long does it take for status points to credit? Reason I ask is flew yesterday afternoon and then fly again on Sunday. The credited amount should be enough to bump me up a tier and I want to be able to use the new tier benefits for my Sunday flight. I have reached out to CX CS but they haven't been the most helpful.

Thanks in advance.

If it’s a CX flight then you should be good.

If partner flight then most likely not on time for Sunday.

CX flights are usually next day or max 2 days later.

Thanks. Confirmed it's a CX flight.

It seems status miles have been updated on system, but status not yet. I guess maybe wait a day then for status to update?

At present says 0 miles to status upgrade or something along those words.

Maybe call CX to confirm if they can upgrade the status in time for you?

Minor hijacking: Has anyone seen a situation where for 2 pax on 1 PNR, one person gets the credits on time, but the other is MIA? This has just happened to me...
(CX metal & CX marketed etc)

It just happens all the time for me, no idea why.... Just submit a retro claim form 7 days after the arrival of the flight, or if in a rush, call the hotline and tell them "Urgent" many times and they will email the team to input asap!

Thanks!

A colleague who had problems in the past actually lead me to think it was about a middle name mismatch - checekd with CX and I've raised a ticket to add mine onto my Cathay account. Apparently CX cares about middle name in matching, but this isnt always the case for others in OW (even posting to CX).
Sadly, it seems my colleague knew more about this than an agent who just gave the "it takes 6-8 weeks to post to you account" answer (until pushed a little and I sent my boarding passes via email).
