Business Light fares missing
Was looking for flights from Seoul to London in Business Class for September this year. Found some great Business Light fares. However, I've checked now and it seems that all Business light fares have disappeared completely. I've checked dates in February and March next year and the only thing I am seeing are ridiculously priced flex fares. Would anyone know why the light fares have been removed, and in that case, how long they are removed for?

Those usually are the 'I' class fare bucket - and availability of this fare class has recently been abysmal systemwide
|
There is plenty of availability in J, C, D , P fare buckets ( and some in I) for ICN-HKG and HKG-LHR in mid-september. But none for ICN-LHR (once in a while an occasional J on one of the two flights).
That is strange and CX is losing sales. Same situation for TYO as origin, but not SIN. |
Because P/I fares are much cheaper ex-ICN/TYO than SIN!
But even just the Europe - HK segments - I don't seem to find any P/I class available at all for the entirety of April/May/June it seems |
Really hope those I class fares I found from ICN reappear. Some of the cheapest i've seen post-pandemic.

Unless you need those Cathay points, don't feel mandated to fly CX. Their exorbitant prices are just absurd.
You have to accept that fares originating in HKG are very high on all airlines because of reduced capacity. CX is the fare leader from HKG and given their high load, they can set high fares. Calling "absurd" the play of normal market forces in a highly competitive industry is weird. |

I noticed today that the Light fare option has disappeared. Does anyone know why?

Some of the prices of ex-PVG to Europe in J are quite ridiculous. For example in July, I class on ex-HKG to LHR is available, but only full fare J for PVG-HKG-LHR that costs $15k USD. Not sure what happened or this is intentionally. Just that I couldn't think of a particular holiday or event that could cause such pricing.

i dont think I fares would come anytime soon. CX has no trouble selling J fares to anybody who need to go to Europe given ME3 are still shut effectively.
most i hear is people bot cheapo ME3 fares for latter part of year but also bot fully refundable CX/SQ as backup |
Time to start flying CA via PEK, CZ via PKX / CAN and MU via PVG.
