I had a similar problem and the helpful CX agent on the phone told me the secret is to manage the booking as guest. Don't log in to your CX account.

I have done exactly this and it doesn’t work. Earlier I was able to access a seat map that had all the other seats blocked except exit row seats. However, it didn’t let pick them in the end. Now it doesn’t even show that. I’ve also contacted CS through whatsapp and called once to no avail. Last time the agent told that he asked a more senior colleague but only suggestions were to call Finnair or wait until check-in.

1. This has nothing to do with code-share. Award seats are always booked on prime flight.
2. If you are booked in Economy (X) and don't have oneworld élite status, you are not eligible for free seat selection. Otherwise, call CX.
