Lounge closes 12:30am, flight is at 1:30am?
Hi All,
We're booked to transit through HK in December - our flight from HK to Europe is booked in at 1:30am and the business class lounges apparently close at1:30am 12:30am - I know that's not a long time but I just wondered where do we sit if the lounge is closing - what is the alternative? We have a lenght layover and we wanted to get back and grab a shower before heading to our next flight.
Seperate question - if we want to have a shower, do you have to pre-book a shower or on the spot?

Normally there are plenty of showers to go around, so it's not an issue. It's worth asking when you go to the lounge and they'll advise you of the waiting time. I've had to wait maximum 15-20mins before.

Hi,
Like above , Pre covid there was one lounge open to the last flight ( had a 0145 or so flight) and then boarding started around T-45 or so .
Pre covid- no need to pre book a shower
Regards

Is it the JFK flight that you are referring to? The Pier will stay open (with limited service provided) until that flight is ready for boarding.

Yeah it's the JFK flight. Was pretty hard to find 4 redemption awards and that was the only one that worked out. As long as there's some light food and a place to sit it's good enough. I was really expecting it to be closed so anything besides that is a bonus in my books. Thank you.

Curious where OP is getting the 12:30 from? The Deck? Loungebuddy? Some third party website?
Just refer to the official website:

Was just at HKG this past Wed, had the exact transit time as op (altho to NRT). Visited both the Deck and the Pier lounges. Was also under the impression that 1230 am was closing time? Showering at the Pier was no problem, just tell the desk attendant and shower away - no pre booking needed. Side note: the Pier and the Deck are quite far from each other so maybe u'll want to consider which gate your departing from. If not a concern, hands down the Pier. Having said that, and the Pier is truly a fantastic lounge - wasn't impressed with the noodle bar. Way over hyped, but can't beat free. What I was impressed with was HKG itself!

That JFK flight has now moved forward an hour because of the time change, probably affecting the lounge closure times. The one I checked had a 0220 departure time.

Was on 844 to JFK last week, before DST set in. Wing F & Pier J were both open, and showers were available atleast at Wing F (Flight was from Gate 69..but I was too lazy & didn’t go to the Pier).
Limited late night bites menu.
The buggy benefit is still around, but, the service stops at some point in the night.
