yeah and I don’t think they have activated their London, Singapore, and Bangkok Base Crew yet.

I think they've been let go....with all the recruitment drive in HK, im guessing CX wants to consolidate crewing our of HK for the time being.

i dont think so as it will be announced on in the media like they did for their US and Canada bases. And I don’t think the Union in LON base will be quiet if that were to happen.

and I wonder where you based that on
for SIN the 711-658 rotation is always operated by SIN based crew. And this flight is restarting.

that is why i said, "I don't think...."

thanks for the clarification

Am I the only one who thinks that no CX crew would want to work in Y on the new A321neo?

I mean I can totally understand from the crew’s perspective - have you seen the super tiny half sized flex Y galleys on the A321 neo? Ridiculously cramped for three crews to deliver full service with half the space they get. Even BA struggles to get sh*t done in Y on the A321N and they only do water + crisps on top of BoB lol.

I recently flew on the A321neo from HKG-MNL, they only do boxed meals on those, since i heard they need to double cater from HKG and there some space issues. (Separately both TPE and MNL flights have meal service now except those on 321s) I went down after J meal service to look at the cabin and to take a few photos of the sharkklet...the crew were just in the galley chatting the whole time and it seems very crowded. Plus the 3 lavatories are located at the back so it got more crowded when we were about to land.

What a pity. They’ve got the hardware right on the 32N (like having PTVs on every seat etc.), but at the same time needing to downgrade catering simply because of the small galley.

They had the right aircraft but not the right cabin. To have more seats, they removed the toilet in the middle of the aircraft, which makes 3 toilets and half galley at the end.

I recently fle to HKT and back. I really like the 32Q with decent seats and superb entertainment system.
Flying in Y first row both ways, we had a decent hot meal. Nothing downgraded.

There are 3 toilets at the back and 1 at the front. I am not aware of any airline flying 32Q with more than 4 toilets. All have 4 (DL, KE, BA, EY,.) or even 3 (AF).

Interested to see from the crews perspective - three (or four) of them preparing hot meals in the tiny half-sized galley right next to people queueing for toilets at the back must be challenging. One of those things where the config was purely driven by Finance with little to no consultation with the crew (a la the BA A350 galley disaster).

I just flew MNL-HKG in Y, and it was a hot meal since it was the A330. Interesting that there is no beverage service other than the bottle of water on the tray. I asked if I could have a glass of wine, and they brought it to me with regular top-ups. Not sure if that's because I am Emerald or are all drinks on request in Y on short-haul flights? Im flying on an A321 from HKG-Hanoi next week in Y, and wondering if it will be boxed meal (is it cold or is there a hot dish)? Will try to request wine on that flight and see what happens. I was surprised there was no choice in Y for the meal though from MNL (only option is pork fried rice).

sub 2hour ops in PY and Y, and short haul red eyes all have drinks on demand

In an ideal world, CX would have a full size rear galley, 2 full sized lavs at the back, and a mid cabin lav similar to the former KA 321s. However, this would mean losing 9 Y seats...
