UO experience - oneworld benefits

I was forced to book a ticket from Taichung to Singapore via HKG. The first flight is with UO bought as CX codeshare business ticket. I am also a oneworld emerald but do those things mean anything with UO? Is there really no way to pick seats on UO beforehand?

Even though UO is now owned by CX. UO is not a member of OW
So the answer is simply no. You won't have any benefits on UO as a OWE

Thanks. As expected.

Any ideas on the seats? If I book on UO website you can buy a seat. But I dont see anyway to do this with a Cathay codeshare ticket. The booking cannot be even viewed on UO site.

Maybe there's another booking ref specifically for UO? If that's the case, get the UO booking ref from them by calling/ live chat with CX

Nope, not possible. Online check-in is also not available for codeshare flights. Basically avoid at any cost. Considering Cathay owns them fully its hard to understand why Cathay chooses to hurt their customers.

Has anyone taken a CX codeshare flight on UO recently? Is this (Booking not viewable on UO’s website/app, no ability to pre-buy seats or OLCI) still the case?
