Upgrade using Asiamiles
 

Need some help please. Does anyone know if there is no availability of a redemption seat on say PE, does that mean there is also no availability of upgrading with Asiamiles to PE if I purchased a full fare Y? Just wondering if I should bother buying the full fare Y if there is no possibility of upgrading with AM... Thanks

Almost no PE points upgrades until about March I was told last week.

Was able to redeem YCL to PEY upgrade for three pax at time of booking (Cantonese call centre) on a HKG-NRT flight in mid January. It is possible, but definitely not easy. Being flexible with dates and catching a flight that was just opened for sale was the key in my case.
