Had a look at the new website - pretty disappointing as most have said. I noticed I still have a few mid tier benefits that will expire soon - bookable upgrade for all destinations in 31 Dec and Gold membership in 30 Sept. Anyone know whether they will be extended again? I am in the mainland so still a bit difficult to travel atm.

I noticed my “membership since” date changed to an earlier date. Maybe that was the date I registered Asia Miles (instead of Marco Polo).

And many many links directed to “access denied” or old pages still mentioning Marco Polo….

Even the link to get digital membership card showed access denied on me, I wonder if I would get a physical card lol

Same, although in my case it just moved 4 days earlier? Strange.

It looks like they have only rolled this out in HK (or maybe some other markets but not the ones I checked). Oh, except the login page for overseas pages. Which now looks like the Elevated Experience… but everything else is old still.

Also, if the purpose of this is to Cathay-fy everything, why does cathay.com redirect to cathaypacific.com? Wouldn’t it make sense to make cathay.com the new main page???

Overall, this is a joke. Over a year ago, they teased a whole new experience. I expected substantive changes. Instead we got a half-baked website refresh and updated versions of the apps. This feels less well thought through than than the previous Marco Polo Club refresh.

Because I shouldn’t be entirely negative, I kind of like the new green. So that’s something.

So effing glad they rolled back the award booking engine back to the old platform but who knows for how long. hurried the hell up to book my Finnair LAX-HEL-AMS ticket since previously i couldnt book it on their "new" website.

~80k miles left after burning 300k today. Thank god my permanent goodbye with asiamiles is 1 step closer. I'd suggest if you had an award you wanted to book, best to do it asap on a platform which works still.

Love how the homepage is redesigned but the Manage Bookings is still on the old styling. Elevated indeed!

I'm sincerely interested to know, as I really can't be bothered with tinkering about the new website / app / program details. Everything I've come across so far have been aesthetics change and rebranding.

Exactly what are the "real" enhancements to the program that genuinely would benefit members?

There is the new credit card which is a negative enhancement.

just saw that they went back to the new version of booking engine, which means my Finnair booking would not have been able to be completed had i tried now.

I'm surprised the make Diamond Plus public, since it's an internal status only.

And to be fair, the website and app updates, coordinating all of that, and really just pulling it off... extremely complex.

Anyways to book awards using the old engine? The new interface sucks big time.

Other than taking away Green members priority boarding and PEY check in, in what way we are "elevated"?

Elevated booking difficulties. Seems like trying to salvage value from our pre-pandemic miles is all Cathay is good for now. We’ve all turned into recovery specialists.

The only wellness initiative they’ve managed is the half-hearted marketing tie-up with Cigna - as if we want to talk to a claims centre as difficult to get thru as Cathay.

"approbation, elevation, and castration. You know the PM's motto: in defeat, malice. In victory, revenge."
