Need help redeeming flights
Guys, Im new to all this, please bear with me. im trying so to book a flight from Orlando to Kuala Lumpur. If I were to outright buy the tickets with cash on the cathay website, it would be MCO-LAX-HKG-KUL and vice versa back. But on the asia miles site, there is no way to find the route, in fact i cant even get any flights from MCO for Kul as destination. It would have to start from LAX for it to even search. So how the heck do I get to LA from Orlando then? The Orlando to LA part would have been on AA so that would be two partners and cathay right?

Are any redemption tickets showing for O'Hare to KL using Qatar?

I think you have too many sectors in your itinerary. For this round-trip award, it should be max two sectors each way. You should check the full T&C on the Asia Miles website.

Flyingnoob90 Welcome to FT
What class of travel and when? Routes that are available for cash sale not always available as an award: just the way it is. Look for awards from other Florida airports. MCO, TPA and others With awards need to be flexible with origin, destination, routes and dates SIN is close to KUL. A possible option. Buy a ticket SIN to KUL A map from Great Circle Mapper - Great Circle Mapper https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuala_...tional_Airport https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orland...tional_Airport https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miami_...tional_Airport https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tampa_...tional_Airport |

i did not check from Chicago. But wont it be the same? I will somehow need to fly separately using cash from orlando to chicago if there is one? Then it wont be on one ticket and be hassle at check in/baggage claim. I guess im just confused, why is the orlando flight leg excluded. Is it possible to pay the orlando leg and use miles for the rest on one ticket?

When you say sectors, do you mean leg? So LA to Hk is one and HK to KL is another one? I would just have to find my way to LA somehow and back?
Since you are not familiar with the rules, I suggest that you go through https://www.asiamiles.com/en/redeem-...ard-chart.html, https://www.asiamiles.com/en/terms-a...onditions.html, https://www.asiamiles.com/en/terms-a...er-awards.html, and https://www.asiamiles.com/en/terms-a...rd-awards.html first AA flights cannot be redeemed online, so you must call and expect a long wait. |
