Adding another ticket to the same PNR
Is it possible for CX to add a separately purchased BA ticket to the same PNR? If possible, I can through check in my baggage from BA to CX. If not, how much time should I prepare for transfer (immigration, baggage collection, transfer from T5 to T3 and check-in again) from BA to CX at LHR?
Many thanks for answering. |

Hi,
If on separate tickets BA will not interline to CX ( CX will do it to BA in the opposite direction) and if due to the BA flight being late you miss the CX flight you may have to pay considerably more for a new ticket. Where are you coming into LHR on BA from? Given the cost of the long haul flight I would allow a minimum of 4hours between flights (3 hours given the CX bag check in deadline of 1 hour). I am doing BA EDI-LHR then CX LHR-HKG-NRT in a fortnight but flying down from EDI the night before so I have a relaxing morning (1145 flight to HKG) Regards TBS |

I do not quite understand your question. Do you have a ticket purchased from BA already, and are looking to buy another CX ticket? They are technically able to do it, although I seriously doubt any agent would do it for you, as it would be against their policy. If you have already bought both tickets separately, then that's it. You can't "merge" PNRs.
HKG-FRA LHR-HKG but would like to add a BA flight from TXL to LHR to connect with the ex-LHR flight to HKG. |
Hi,
Thanks for that. Here is my thoughts on the timings ( assuming an ontime arrival on stand at LHR @1530 and ability to use e-gate immigration- depending on your passport type/origin) 1615 Cleared immigration and collected luggage (also depending on where your TXL-LHR flight arrives- if at the C gates it could take longer but likely to be B or A gates 1625 At the Heathrow express platform ( need to get a voucher for free transit between terminals) or Underground ( free if you use Oyster or contactless) 1645 Get the underground or train ( Muphy's law paraphased suggests that if you are in a hurry you will just miss a train) 1650 Arrive at Heathrow T2/T3 Underground train station 1700 Arrive at T3 CX check in This should give you about 2 hrs 10mins before CX check in closes at T-60 ( 1910) However if you have a passport that cannot use the egates immigration can take a lot longer which will eat into the time Depending on your BA ticket type if there are problems on the day you may be able to do a same day change ( SDC) for a fee ( check the BA forum for details ) Regards TBS |

Many thanks for your detailed reply.
We cannot use eGates unfortunately (I use British National (Overseas) and my partner uses Hong Kong SAR passport). That wil add some time to the process as you will need to see a Border Force agent before going landside. Not sure how long this would take though. Regards TBS |

If I have access to Fast Track on arrival, would it help?
