Pre-selected seats changed
I have an upcoming flight on KA (CRK-HKG-CRK) where as MPC member, I was able to pre-select the front biz class seats. (This flight is an all economy flight.)
When I checked moments ago, we will now be seated at the back of the plane. Called up MPC and they can't do anything to seat us infront even if those seats are still unassigned. This has never happened to me before. I thought I will be guaranteed my selected seats at booking, unless there's an equipment swap. |

I was able to take those front seats back using the CX App. But I wasn't able to do it in the CX website on my desktop. Weird. |
Seat swaps to the back of the plane have happened to me several times these past few months. Because of status, I was usually able to select the front cabin on KA or CX flights. However, I noticed that for a few flights, I was reassigned to bulkhead in the back cabin. Sometimes, I was able to get my old seats back, but sometimes not. No equipment swap as far as I know. |
If the flight is operated as all Y but with business class seats inside the cabin, the business class seats are usually only reserved for top elite only(DM/OWE). If you choose these seats before check-in, they may move you to other seats. It can only be guaranteed when you ask during check-in at the airport.
