Minimum Age for Lounge Access
What happens if a 12 year old wants to access the CX lounges by themselves? They are flying J and have CX GO. Is there a minimum age?
Couldn't find a thread on FT talking about this. |
Originally I wrote 13 was cutoff, but turns out it's 12.
I'm not sure. UAM is required UNDER 12 so I think he/she just makes the cutoff for not needing UAM if you don't want. I deleted what I wrote before. |
The CX website says this: For passengers who are under the legal age and travelling alone, permission for lounge admission and alcohol consumption will follow the legal age definition of local laws and policies of lounge operators, which may vary across different countries. |

There's no legal restriction on unaccompanied minors being in bars in HK. The only restriction is that under-18s can't be served or supplied with alcohol in licensed premises (which the lounges must be). How that works when there is self-service alcohol I'm not sure, but there should be no legal problem entering lounges in HK where all the alcohol is served.

For CX/OW lounges in the U.S., IIRC there's a thread on this in the AA forum.
