CX / FJ codeshare - OneWorld Connect
 
Read a few months ago that Fiji Airways was going to be a OneWorld Connect partner. Has there been any further news to this?

I am looking to book some flights from HKG to Samoa and earn some miles at the same time. Looking online it doesn't appear CX fly there on any codeshares yet only to Fiji.

According to https://www.fijiairways.com/tabua-cl...club-benefits/, oneworld connect is expected to start in Q4, but no exact date has been mentioned. Even if it starts soon, it doesn't mean CX will put its code on flights to Samoa. It would however mean that you can get BA Avios when booking with FJ directly.

At least when FJ finally finishes their implementation into OW Connect, you should technically be able to connect all the way to Samoa and get miles for that.

Any idea if we will be able to book FJ flights as part of OW multi-carrier awards?

I would say wait for individual programme's announcement. It's not clear whether oneworld connect partners will be included in oneworld multi-carrier awards.
