QRC3288, yes, I do understand that. I know it's a minor benifit. But I would rather be waiting at TBIT CX Lounge than on Terminal 4 AA Admirals club. Just convenient, especially when the flights get delayed etc.

Also, I do have some upcoming travel planned on CX flights. I do hope to be Gold, at least, this year. And hence was a little frustrated that my points will not be counted because the stupid mistake.

You live you learn. You just had the weird situation of benefitting from a highly improvable glitch on one of your first gos around, which gave you the wrong impression. Getting double credit for mileage points is very lucky. It's not supposed to happen.

Just a quick update: in case someone might be in a similar situation like me.

I contacted MPC, they said, ask AA to first remove the FF miles etc and then follow up with us! Not sure if it's a good idea. I will mostly let it go.

QRC3288, Agreed. Just wish I had gotten both for LAX-HKG leg instead. ;-)

Anyway, thanks all for the replied and help.

Best,

For those of us with long memories, the answer is actually "not any more". 20 or so years ago it was perfectly possible to have, for example, MPO status credit and BA Airmiles mileage credit for the same flight. This changed around 1999 if I recall correctly.

I mentioned at https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cath...es-faqs-8.html that it was not that long ago. As of ~10 years ago it was still possible.
