CX 889/888

my wife and I are flying on AAward tickets in First from JFK - HKG in 2 weeks

on the CX website, it lists the equipment for this flight as "EQV", which means the equipment varies

has anyone heard of anything but a 747 being used on this route? having being in First on the 747 and the Airbus, I greatly prefer the 747 cabin

thanks

747 is used on this route until July 1st which will then switch to 34C when CX830/831 commences.

As indicated above, the plan is to change the aircraft in the future, but that's after your date of travel.

I have always found CX to use a 747 on that route.

"EQV" means it will differ between the 747-400 with a smaller Business Class cabin, also dubbed as the "744" by Cathay, or the one with the larger Business Class cabin, dubberd as "74J".

CX will vary the aircraft depending on load/days. That's why you see "EQV".
