J class checked baggage limit?
The CX website says 2 pieces. Has anyone got away with more in J? YVR-BKK in this case.
|
Yes. But this is another of the benefits of being Elite tier on CX: Gold & Diamond get one extra piece transpacific. (Silver/Gold/Diamond get 10/15/20kg extra on weight-based routes)

Just for your interest, extra baggage is charged at CDN$165 or something similar, with 32kg limit (not weight based calculation) if you fly YVR-BKK.

It will really depend on the staff at the airport.
You are only allowed 2 pieces. Maximum. It will depend if the flight is full, oversold etc. If your 3rd piece is small, CX might waive it. But don't count on it being waived, just because ... |

We recently had 7 checked pieces + a checked pram when travelling J with our baby BNE-HKG - very accomodating CX staffers let that through on a pretty empty flight. We were ready to pay excess, but they sympathised with our situation of moving country (again!) with our new babe, so let it go. That's the kind of individual latitude we love with CX, and why we now regularly choose them ahead of other airlines. |
