A + for o.w. and cx

as i was in line to check in at nrt today (long lines to screan the bags) a cx coustomer service rep came around holding a sign that said first class and business class. i showed her my aa exp card and she proceeded to take me to the front of the line (about 30 people) way to go one world and just another example of cx recognizing elites even if they are from other airlines.

CX are very good at recognising OW elite benefits, the standout being a more friendly attitudes towards op-upgrades than the others. However I don't think the others do that bad a job either (leaving aside the occasional ignorance by BA and AA staff).

Sometimes it feels like Star Gold gives nothing more then lounge access (but only if the airline wants to), points earning and J class check in. OW wins here, especially with the first class Emerald tier benefits.

SQ is one of the worst when it comes to OPS Upgrade - the pits!

Every time (and I mean every time) I fly CX, even in coach, the Purser always comes over to my seat during the flight and welcomes me on board and thanks me for my business. I'm assuming because I'm OW Emerald. Doesn't matter if its HKG-JFK or HKG-TPE. We also usually have a short conversation for a minute or so. The last conversation was about my iPod.

Way to go!

I concur that CX is very good for airport and in-flight service, esp for tier members, even it is only OW but not the Club memebers...sometimes it is not just the facilities (such as the Wing) but the little guesture of greeting! (it is canned, maybe, but it is way better than nothing)

It is funny that one time I am sitting next to a family with fathers and sons. The ISM look at me, then look at the "father', then look at the list of pax on his hand, then with no confident asking me if I am Mr. HK-UMICH... Hard to believe I am an EXP by my face and clothes.. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
