changes to AA program for CX flight for Canadian Residents
http://www.aa.com/content/images/AAd...letter0403.pdf
effective Sept 1 2003 K, L, M, S class won't accrue any AA miles |
Thanks for the information.
It is not good news but it's nice of AA to let us know in advance this type of change is coming. |
I suspect this has more to do with CX than AA. I have noticed that CX is now actively courting membership in its own program, rather than AA's as was the case when CP merged with AC, and CX offered us Plat status in AA, and lots of other mileage bonuses. Recently they have been promoting their own FF program with lots of route bonuses -- I am not aware of any actual status matching from AA or AC to get us to join up -- and other incentives.
I guess this balances the addition of BA's Canada-UK routes to AA mileage accumulation for Canadian AAdvantage members. |
With BA's accural will be 25% anyway, I think it is time for cheap-fare flyers like me to accept this or get another orphn miles account for those miles.
my HKG-LHR miles will be gone http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif |
