Help, first time on CX J!
I am on CX 883 from LAX-HKG on 3 December, on to Bangkok and then returning on CX 880 HKG-LAX on 8 December in business. Are these flights the new business class? What are the best seats in J (travelling solo) What loubge should I use for 4 hour layover on way to BKK?
Thanks!!! |
Sorry ... it's a trade secret.
Just be surprised all the way through. 4 hours in HKG? You'll be begging for more time to spend at the WING , Cathay's lounge. |

Sorry, I don't divulge my preferred seats on CX F or J - even if they tend to be held specially for me. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cool.gif Enjoy The Wing and The Pier at HKG - you won't be disappointed with either. I believe that The Pier now opens at 07:00. Note that The Pier has more PCs than The Wing. Showers at The Pier are also nicer that those at The Wing. I suggest that you also do a search on this forum for additional information about CX's business class and lounge products. Enjoy CX! |

I know that in economy, only MPO members can literally boot off someone who has no status! |
I have never had a problem getting the seats that I want on CX(I fly trans pacific around two times a month) and I am not a member of the Marco club.

Thanks for the comments. Without going into trade secrets, anyone wish to give advice on specific seats!
Thanks again. |
Most people like the upstairs on the 747. If you do, look for the exit row with lots of extra leg room.
Since demand for the upsairs is higher than downstairs, the chances of having an empty seat next to you (and larger bins--but only in the old J) is greater downstairs. The B cabin is smaller than the C cabin but many aircraft do not have the C cabin. If you fly more than once a month, be advised that radiation exposure is higher in the upstairs cabin. |
86AC HK Upstairs..emergency door row..if
you get the old C...if it's the NBC...then if you travel solo , try for the aisle seat in the middle , and hope that the center seat will be unoccupied . If it is..the person in the middle can climb over either side to get out ...Or any window seat..if you don't get up a lot . Hope this helps a little . PS : 86A and K are best if you travel solo window with bin below it for shoes , knick knacks . |
Thanks again. Just a question Mr. Strong, how do you get info on current equip schedules (other than calling CX?)
Thanks [This message has been edited by williamjacoby (edited 10-28-2002).] |
I have a source at CX who doesn't mind me asking for equipment information from time to time.
