How to stop automatic crediting of (Asia)miles!?
 

Hi all, how do stop the automatic credit of miles (and points) to my MP account? Do I need to call in, or can it be done online somehow?

Trying to stop them being credited on upcoming flights, as I might want to credit them elsewhere (or to MP) at a later point.

You change your frequent flyer number on your booking.

thanks, but thats only possible if you add another one into the system. You can only remove the number by calling or at checkin.

The only way to stop automatic crediting is not to provide an account number.

However - it also means you won't get any benefits out from your account in most instances.

Once the number is provided, it is automatic unless the number has been removed.

I have at least always had lounge access, even after asking the checkin staff to remove my number. Sometimes I already had the lounge invite, other times, I just went to the lounge and showed them my silver card. Both no problem. Not sure about other things, such as getting priority for Ops Upgrades.

I called in last time when I was flying HKG NRT to remove my number, but it still auto credit into my account after 3 days. So the best is to not provide your number at time of booking.
