Site/code to check CX award seat availability?
Looking for a web site to check award seat availability on CX, or alternatively, the codes for First and Business award seats on CX. (On AA, for example, a Business award seat is 'U', but that doesn't seem to be the right letter for CX.)

you can use www.cathaypacific.com ...in the online booking section, choose award booking...
but I think you need to login as an Asia Miles or MPO member in order to use the award booking feature...but you can enroll in Asia Miles for free online at www.asiamiles.com ... and, on CX, I think F and J awards are booked in Z and U respectively, not sure for Y awards...and it's the same for full award or upgrade award (so a full business award booking shares the same inventory as an economy-upgraded-to-business booking)...and I think they use the same inventory no matter you are redeeming using Asia Miles or any other partner FFPs (which is really great, compared to other airlines like SQ which gives more inventory to their own members)... |

Originally posted by olafman: While booking an award trip last year using AA miles, it became apparent that CX has more inventory for Asiamiles than for their partners. (i.e. an award seat was available on their website but not through the AA res #) I do not think CX restricts inventory for its oneworld partners as much as SQ does for its Star partners. SQ's apparent restrictive policy/arrangement is a bit outrageous. |
