Specific Question About Cabin Baggage Allowance for First Class
Hi All,
I have yet another question and, as always, any help is appreciated. As you may recall, I will be traveling all of August on a Oneworld Explorer First Class ticket. As this is a long time away from home, I am planing on taking a 28" rolling bag, which I will check for my flights. I also want to take my 22" roll-on to carry a change of clothes and my toilettry kit. This I want to carry-on. I also want to take what Travelsmith calls an underseat companion bag, to carry books and my laptop (for trip reports). Of course, I want to carry this on. My question is, will I be allowed to carry both the 22" roll-on and the underseat companion onto my CX flights as a First Class passenger? The flight most important to me is CX 873 (SFO-HKG) as I will be in transit at HKG to NRT (CX 450) and want to shower and change clothes in The Cabanas. Thanks! |
Shouldn't be a problem. I've carried 2 carry-on's [laptop bag + a leather duffel of ~18"] on to multiple CX flights in J/F. 3 pieces, actually, including the folding hand-cart. No FA or GA has ever stopped me.

CX has recently reissued its carry-on rules.
See here: http://www.cathaypacific.com/intl/pr...ge/0,,,00.html For First Class they are: - one bag not exceeding 22" x 14" x 9" - one garment bag or soft bag not more than 8" thick together these two plus your duty-free if any can be up to 15kg (33lb) In addition you can carry: - one briefcase and - one laptop each not exceeding 9lb in weight. Plus handbag, coat, umbrella, camera. So I guess you should be alright. If the "Underseat Companion" looks like a laptop bag and weighs less than 9lb then certainly no problem. |
