A few quick observations about CX A330 coach class
Here are a few quick observations for those who might want to travel on CX coach, especially the A330:
1) Bulkhead rows offer the best room (this should have been assumed beforehand anyway) 2) Row 64 is one of the WORST for legroom. 64 is where the fuselage tapers inwards and CX gives no compensation for this. We're looking at 30.5" here. 3) Row 63 looks quite good, but I'm judging from A330-300 with rego B-HLP here with the 3 class arrangement. The A330-300 uses the same seats as the B777-300, which although it looks more comfortable than the B747-400 seats, are not. The side wings are useless. Feel free to disagree with these observations. Cheers, Clement (my trip report is in the process of being written) |
Reasonable observation there, but my opinion is that any seat is pretty much the same on Airbus aircrafts. Your observation about the row 64 might be true, but I can't say for sure because I haven't check them out myself.
Bulkhead seat might be a good choice if you do not like the seat infront of you to be reclined. Or, since you are based in SYD, simply take the flight served by 744. |
The 744 doesn't come here that often any more apparently, 2 x 333's are the norm, or was when I came back here.

The bright side:
If u get Op-upgrade on A333, than u can have new J class! I wonder which one over books more often... |
Yeah, I saw it on the way to my 'poor' coach seat. Looked like heaven.
I think the earlier flight (CX111) books out earlier, cos it arrives earlier and suits business travellers. CX 101 doesn't arrive into SYD until 1155. |
I would prefer CX101 over the earlier flight. I can sleep even in the "poor" coach seat. Besides, if there are lots of business travellers on earlier one, then it's worse if you aim for upgrade, cuz there will be less available J seat.
oh well, but I travel during quite time... so... |
