U is the award business class inventory. Do not worry! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

You can also ask AA to get a seat assignment on a CX flight. If AA refuses it, which is rare, you can also call CX to do it for you. Then you are sure you have a seat in the business class.

any recommendations as to where to ask for a seat assignment on the YYZ-HKG flights? (i think it's the airbus A340 with new business)

kind regards http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Anywhere is fine.

I tried the new Business Class. It's great. Though of a short sector (ie BKK-HKG), the inflight audio/video entertainment is impressive enough to convince me.

The seats are comfortable as well. The J class is split into 2 zones though and I would think that the forward (of the galley) would be slightly more quiet since you're directly behind First Class. Bulkhead is good.

Enjoy!
