Regarding J class seats for CX, the J class seats are actually quite similar on both Boeing 747s and Airbus A340s. A340s feature a 2-2-2 cabin, which is pretty nice, but Boeing 747 has a very nice upper deck. The J class seats are exactly the same. The new Boeing 747s also feature a bar in the main deck and upper deck. A340s do not have the space for a bar corner.
Food service is always nice. Trolley service is featured. A warning, both JFK and YYZ to HKG flights feature a stop in YVR and ANC both ways. You are required to deplane in both occasions. Have a good flight! Carfield |
thanks, carfield!! isn't it interesting that the flight leaving from the us makes an intermediate stop in canada, while the flight form canada makes a stop in the us? obviously people board in yvr, but does anyone board in anc?

No, CX does not board any passenger at Anchorage because it is apparently too expensive to set up a station at ANC with only few passengers.
I recalled an incident on CX flight from YYZ to HKG via ANC a couple years ago. On that particular day, the YYZ-ANC flight made it to ANC safely, but then a problem developed at ANC. Passengers waited for hours and hours before accommodated on a hotel. Since CX only has a few employees at ANC, the situation is not well-handled. Passengers were stranded for more than two days. Presently, only Asiana, China, and Korean Air board new passengers from ANC. KE is the only airline, who has a lounge at ANC. Passengers need to deplane at ANC are due to FAA regulations and possibly ways to increase the sales of its duty free shops, which are actually quite cheap. For the JFK flight, CX is able to make more money on the JFK to YVR sector, since only AA flies this particular NYC-YVR once daily. Carfield http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |
